Desiring Machines

Is desire real or imaginary? Seems real enough. But there is an odd quality about desire as it is experienced as both an absence (a lack), and as a vector of physiological consumption requiring its complete and total satiation (destruction, termination, extinction). Desire both obliterates and resurrects itself in a need for (continuous) self-possession. D&G supersede this (negative) Freudian model by a (positive) reformulation of desire, one based not upon the theater of the irrational, but staged along a productive grid analogous to a complex integrated circuit board. Desire works like a series of resistor switches, capacitors, transistors, amplifiers, etc. that store, pass over, and redirect the energetic (linear) flow of natural production to create new modes of experience. Desire is a multiplicity, a constant state of agitation and flux. Conceptually, desire is energy. Metaphorically, a solar anus. Lyrically, The sun shines out of our behinds.
