A cold, miserable day in Minneapolis (circa 1995) serves as the grim backdrop for this disturbing, humorous tale of sin and redemption. At the surface, we are shown the mundane, tedious, laborious world of overworked, underpaid dishwasher Matt Hanson. A modern day Job, he recounts tales of hope and despair, isolation and anomie, struggle and desire, power and helplessness.  Yet below the surface, something unsettling is happening. The world is not as it seems. Soon we join in as passive spectators inside this primitive ceremonial performance where liberation, abandonment, and murder go hand in hand.

God created the world only to abandon it without cause. Thus begins the dark, painful exploration of the underground world of sex addiction through the eyes of five characters -Anna, John, Maya, Damian and his wife. Set in the sex clubs of Minneapolis in the early 1980s, this twisted, erotic satyricon of desire and obsession follows the ecstasies and nightmares of their tragic interwoven lives.  Told in classical third person voice, the story creates a disturbing, hallucinogenic, and macabre atmosphere of violence and self-destruction. The writing is influenced by the works of Antonin Artaud and Gilles Deleuze.
